Getting to know the application and benefits of the flow control valve

The flow control valve, which is also known as the flow control valve, limits the amount of output flow and keeps it constant regardless of the changes in the input pressure. Flow control valves are preset to maintain the maximum flow regardless of fluctuation. Demand or system pressure (diagrams below) are designed to protect the supply system from overconsumption. There are different ways to apply flow control: mechanical, electronic and also hydraulic.

For example, human forces are not able to control the amount of water consumed by the users, so they use flow control valves to ensure that the consumed flow does not exceed the amount of flow considered in the system. They protect the supply system from excess demand by limiting the flow and prevent it from trying to consume more than the system needs.

How do flow control valves work?

The hydraulic flow control valve is equipped with a flow control pilot designed to control and manage the differential hydraulic pressure associated with variable flow. The flow control pilot instructs the valve to close the corresponding valve when the demand increases more than the set volume and to open the valve completely when the demand decreases below the set volume. Flow control valves react to an increase in the parameters they control with the throttle closed. This is a “progressive” process = increasing demand leads to a gradual decrease in flow through the valve. The more the valve closes, the more the downstream pressure drops. When the demand is less than the design parameters, the valve opens fully.

In addition to the main body and the control circuit, the flow control valves are equipped with a two-ended connecting flange pipe and an orifice in the outlet part of the valve. The diameter of the orifice is calculated based on the desired flow volume. As mentioned earlier, the basis of pilot operation is pressure changes, the pilot of this valve operates based on pressure changes before and after the outlet orifice, and the amount of fluid volume is controlled. In simpler words, this valve is used as a flow and pressure control valve, the body design of the flow control valve is inclined or horizontal, and its internal shape is suitable for the flow of fluid, the force required to control these valves is The hydraulic power of the passing fluid is supplied from inside the valve.
